Analysis
The variety of models shows off the range of skin tones within product lines, which is in keeping with Francois Nars' occupation with working with a range of diverse models.
The advertising images are more glamourised than catwalk designs, this is aspirational for women, but not unachievable in reality which encourages them to follow the NARS ethos and to be daring and playful with their make up.
Some advertisements I've seen are highly sexualised, such as the Orgasm collection. in this example the advert is as raunchy as the name given to the products by featuring exaggerated dewy skin and suggestive facial expressions , again encouraging a playfulness and celebration of womens sexuality.
Some adverts, most notably ones promoting singular products like lipstick or mascara, are very 'stripped back', simplistic and minimal. The mascara advert for example features quite a close up angle, making its focus of attention quite clear to the viewer.
Hair styling within the adverts is tad more elaborate than seen in catwalk designs, I think this is to enhance the glamorous mood of the looks achieved. However, attention is still firmly held with the make up looks and hair styling isn't overbearing.
