Hair Practical: Blow drying for straight and curly finish

Blow drying hair for volumous curls
.Towel dry the hair
. Consider what kind of hair your model has, is it porous, frizzy, thin, straight etc, select appropriate products accordingly
. Apply heat protection spray or serum to the mid lengths and ends of the hair
. Add a small handful of mousse throughout the hair
. Section off the front section of hair around the face, if your model has a fringe make sure to blow dry this section first to avoid it drying at an awkward angle
. If your model has very porous hair, do not apply too much heat
. Using a barrel brush, take sections of hair no wider than your brush. Placing the brush under the hair at the root, apply heat with the hair dryer pointing downwards
. Once the root is completely dry, pulling the hair upwards towards your face apply heat to the mid lengths turning the barrel brush and direction of the hair dryer towards you slightly
. Once the mid lengths are dry, take your barrel brush to the end of the section and roll the brush up towards the root, wrapping the hair around the barrell
. Keep heat applied to the barrell until dry, then gently unravel the hair
. Leave to cool or pin the curl up to keep it tight

Blow drying for a straight finish
. The ideal brush to create this style on short to mid length hair is a Denham brush, for longer hair a paddle brush is advised
. As with the curled style, apply heat serum/spray to the mid lengths and ends of the hair
. If you desire a straight look with a little volume, add some mousse through the hair whilst wet
.starting at the root with the brush underneath the section of hair, apply heat pointing the hairdryer downwards and holding the brush facing upwards
. When the root is dry, pull the brush and hair dryer down the section of hair away front the root to avoid fly always.
